Unit 18 breaking news!

CDFHS were approached by the 4 Together Area Action Partnership Task and Finish Group (the working group made up of community members, partners and group representatives) in relation to their Job Prospects priority.
The priority had come forward as an identified issue from their forum, following workshop exercises, as an area of need and concern for the local people and partners who attended the event.
The task and finish group worked over a 3 month period, looking at what was already being provided, any gaps in provision, local and national consultation results, and using the expertise and local knowledge of the people attending the meetings, ways of how they could make the biggest impact for their 4 Together area.
The group approached CDFHS to look at elements of what we already provide for a wide range of clients, and to see how we could devise a project that added value to that which was already in existence. Specifically though, the focus was on benefitting residents in the 4 Together Area (Ferryhill, Chilton, West Cornforth and Bishop Middleham) and addressing the needs identified through the job prospects priority task group.

Cllr Brian Avery (Chair of the 4 Together Partnership) said:

“We're extremely pleased to see such a worthwhile project creating employment and training opportunities in the 4 Together area. Like other areas we face problems of unemployment and the more we can do to support our local residents into work the better. We're pleased to be creating opportunities like these on our doorstep as it allows us to provide opportunities for our community while supporting a really valuable local charity. We hope the scheme will prove extremely popular and will be of benefit to many people in our community. As chair of the 4 Together Partnership I'm pleased that we're developing such important schemes that will provide as many opportunities for local residents as possible.”
